The Utah Medical Candor Act, which was enacted in May 2022, establishes a voluntary framework for healthcare providers, which includes healthcare facilities, to offer compassionate and timely responses to patients who experience an adverse event. The Utah Medical Candor Act was the result of an initiative undertaken by the Utah Medical Association (UMA). Copic recognizes all of the efforts from UMA to gain support in getting the legislation passed and its work with other partners across Utah's healthcare community.
Below are several resources that provide details about the Utah Medical Candor Act, the Candor process, as well as sample templates of required forms.
